Tall bearded Iris

Tall bearded irises make a dramatic addition to the spring border. They are best planted in a sunny location with good drainage with the rhizomes being planted just below or on the surface of the soil to allow the new roots to develop. Avoid any excessive mulching or feeding as this only encourages soft green growth at the expense of the flowers. Irises will eventually form nice sized clumps, which should be divided every three years or so to ensure vigor.

Plants supplied will be single, sturdy and strong rooted rhizomes (tubers) with the foliage cut down to avoid transplant stress.Rhizomes should be planted out immediately on receipt.Flowering should take place from mid May to early June.
